Team GT Shines Bright at Night Race

Aug 02, 2013

Fort Mill, SC – August 2, 2013.  The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) took to the track for the first, and only, time in 2013 under the lights of Glen Helen.  In the dark and dust, Team GT got down and dirty on the .8-mile, five-turn course to collect three podium finishes on the weekend.

The only driver to pilot a truck in ProLite, Pro-2 and Pro-4, Ryan Beat showed what he’s made of on Sunday posting a third-place finish in Pro-4 action.  The up-and-comer has been riddled with mechanical failures this year but seemed to break through at Glen Helen.  Beat was able to dig in with his Grabber’s and put himself at the front of the field to let his competition know, he was there to win.

When asked about night racing, Robby Woods said, “The fans are alive and there’s a vampire vibe in the air.”  Woods must have fed off that vibe as he posted a third-place finish in Pro-2 competition on Sunday.  Woods, a crowd favorite, exercised patience while maintaining aggressiveness to claim his trophy on Red Letter Grabbers.

Holding the torch for Team GT in ProLite action was Casey Currie.  Currie battled his way to a third-place podium spot during Round 10 competition, marking his fourth podium of the 2013 season.  Currie currently sits fourth in the overall ProLite point standings, 46 points out of the lead.

Fans can find the same grip and durability that Team GT relies on during a LOORRS race in General’s GRABBER line of tires.  For more information, or to find a dealer near you, visit
