It’s a huge win for C.J. Hutchins, taking first place in the 1500 Class at the Silver State 300 over the weekend. His #1527 race car crossed the finish line on 37” General GRABBERS in a time of 5 hours and 24 minutes, giving him a first place finish in his class, and third overall position in the Silver State 300! That’s one impressive feat considering the amount of talent that was involved in this past weekend’s race through tight, twisty mountain roads that run along the border of Eastern Nevada.

Hutchins’ skills, combined with his love of high-speed driving, kept him pushing through the long race just a little faster than his competition—enough to earn him the Gold!

We asked Hutchins what attributed to his success this year and he told us this: “This is one of the most technical races there is and I’ve been able to learn the correct pace over the last couple years. My General Grabbers kept me moving with no flats the entire day and I had a super clean race that was luckily pretty uneventful. We threw a splash of fuel in at the beginning and only had to pit for a fill-up once. This left my car actually running out of fuel in the last couple turns, but it was just enough to push me over the finish line. It was closer than I would’ve liked, but we still got the win!”

Macrae Glass also earned a podium spot this weekend in the 8000 class with a second place win in his KC Hi-Lites truck. Navigating this driver-favorite, rally-style course with veteran skills, Glass hit the finish line in just 6 hours 27 minutes.
