Biography

A 26-year veteran of racing, Kent Kroeker is a staple in the Class 8 SCORE, BITD and SNORE desert racing series’.  Kroeker’s breakout race came in 2004 when he beat out Robby Gordon at the celebrated Baja 1000.  The California-resident added a Mint 400 title to his 2008 accolades and then in 2009 won the Primm 300.  In 2010 Kroeker returned to the Mexican desert to capture a Baja 500 win and repeated the feat in 2011.  Kroeker maintained his momentum, on what some say was one of the most difficult race courses, and repeated his Baja 1000 win in Class 8 last year.  Kroeker will once again storm the desert in 2012 in an effort to win a championship.

Did You Know?

Relationship status: Married to the beautiful SaraMae Kroeker.

Twitter handle: What’s Twitter?

Favorite person(s) to follow on Twitter: My wife – if I knew what Twitter was.

Dailey driver (what GT or Conti tires do you have on it?): It’s a Mopar Ram Runner with 35” DOT Grabbers on it.

Best thing I ever ate : Hot Medjool Dates wrapped in Bacon – actually almost anything is awesome when wrapped in bacon!  Kim Che

Favorite place: Home – or run out on big mountains.

Hidden Talents: I speak fluent French.  Not a macho talent; that’s why it’s “hidden”.

What’s playing on my iPod: Lots of  LOUD Dubstep – Bassnectar, Krady, Rusko, Skrillex and Cookie Monster.

I have to set my DVR for: What is a DVR?

Three must see movies: Dr. Strangelove, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Bladerunner.

Person I admire most and why: My Dad for sure.  He’s an International Hero, physical specimen, and an example for all mankind.

Most memorable race/event and why: Without a doubt, the 2011 Baja 1000.  We dedicated the race to Jeremy Graczyk, a Marine buddy of mine who had died that year.  Then, as a team, we undertook the most audacious prep possible; we literally built our race truck from scratch in 6 weeks.  Then we went to Baja and won.  It was a huge personal accomplishment, a tribute to my fallen brother, and a testament to the dedication of my team.

Best advice I ever got: Nothing is for free; you get out of life everything that you put in.

Other athletes I give big props to: I admire B.A.S.E jumpers who fly the squirrel suit.  As a pilot I regard that kind of flying is the most spectacular endeavor I’ve ever seen.  But it’s dangerous and I would be doing it right now if I didn’t have such a loving wife.  However, if she leaves me when I get old and decrepit, I’m flying the squirrel suit For The Win!

How I got my start racing/competing: I’ve always been a belligerent punk.  Racing is just an extension of that tendency: fighting, thrashing, bashing.  It started with skateboards and BMX bikes, then motocross and desert racing, flying military aircraft and now racing trucks.  Racing is awesome!
