Travis Chase

Travis is ready to get this 2016 season started.
Travis Chase
His dad/team owner (Don Chase) has been racing offroad since ’83. He has had a multiple wins and podiums as well as a Championship in class 1600. Travis started racing motorcycles right out of high school and into college. He went from never riding a bike to the expert class in a four year period. When he got married in 2006 he had another person to worry about so his dad and Travis decided to dust off the old 1600 and put a cage around them. We raced it successfully for a few years then made the jump to the Unlimited Buggy Class in 2009. Our first year in class 1/1500 we won several races with a couple second places and topped it off with the MORE championship. The following year we stepped up to Best in the Desert. We had good runs and even had a 2nd at Henderson finishing out the season with the Best in the Desert ROOKIE OF THE YEAR. These past couple years we have yet to put together a solid season but have been able to get podium finished here and there.

Favorite Race and why?
The one I always seem to do well at is Henderson. But my favorite race is the Mint, even though it’s eluded me like seven times. The atmosphere is awesome.

Do you have a pre-race routine you go through before heading out into the dessert?
No not really. Just kissing the wife and kids. I don’t really have any superstitions. When I raced motorcycles I did, but not anymore.

What other adventurous activites to you participate in?
I got way too many. Primarily downhill mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding.

Best place to go off-roading for a weekend?
We go all the time with the family to Jawbone, Cal City, or Dove Springs.

If you were going to do a weekend off-road trip, what five essential things would you bring with you?
Tools, Fuel, Margaritas, Firewood and Survival Kit.

If you could go to dinner with five other people (dead or alive), who would you pick and why?
Ivan Stewart, My Grandpa, Dan Bilzerian, Vern Troyer and Mario Andretti.

Top three road trip songs in your opinion?
Kenny G, Michael Bolton and Britney Spears.

Best road trip you have ever taken?
Best road trip was with my parents. We did a trip across the country and did like 26 states in three weeks. Just jammin’ around in the motorhome. Saw so many rad things. We went up to Mt. Rushmore and went back around and it was way cool.

Bonus question: If you could go anywhere on your Grabbers, where would you go?
I would go on that one road that has a cliff on the one side and you can only fit one car down it. The North Yungas Road in Bolivia, that’s it. It’s pretty gnarly.
