Team GT Fishing Angler, Alton Jones Jr. has taken the lead in the Bally Bet Angler of the Year Race, with his second-place finish on Lake St. Clair. However, three other hot Bass Pro Tour anglers are within 10 points of his lead. Fellow Team GT fishing Angler, Ott Defoe currently sits in third, just 8.5 points behind Alton Jones Jr. Defoe will try to finally break through after finishing second in three previous Angler Of the Year pursuits. Should Jones, remain red hot and win AOY, he may be able to lay claim to the best season in Bass Pro Tour history. His General Tire Heavy Hitters win and REDCREAST runner-up finish aren't even reflected in the points. Stage Seven at Saginaw Bay will certainly be one to watch.
