General Tire has partnered with eight tracks as part of their "all-in" involvement with the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. In addition to the presenting sponsorship status with this weekend's season opener at Daytona - the Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire - the tire manufacturer is partnering with Talladega Superspeedway, Pocono Raceway, DuQuoin State Fair, and Kentucky Speedway to build an entitlement portfolio for the 2016 ARCA season.
This monumental announcement will find General Tire taking a leading role with race sponsorship and consumer activation that will utilize a new display. The always action packed race at Talladega on April 29 will be known as the "General Tire 200."
“The ARCA Series has been a staple here at Talladega since the beginning of the facility in 1969 and we are thrilled to have a historical brand like General Tire join our track family,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “General Tire being a part of the biggest and baddest track on the planet with the General Tire 200 will make an immediate impact on race fans everywhere.”
The first of two ARCA events at Pocono's Tricky Triangle on June 3 will become the "General Tire #Anywhere Is Possible 200."
“General Tire is going to be a great partner for us and we are looking forward to working with them to put on a great event for our fans,” said Pocono Raceway President & CEO Brandon Igdalsky. “The Mattioli family and ARCA have a long history of working together and this is another opportunity for us to support this great series.”
When the series roles into DuQuoin, Ill. on Labor Day Weekend, the dirt race will be titled "General Tire Grabber 100." The Grabber line of light truck tires is a focal point at the company's tire plant located less than an hour north of the fairgrounds in Mt. Vernon, Ill.
“We are excited to partner with General Tire and bring our race fans together in Southern Illinois with such a great brand in a State Fair setting for the ARCA Racing Series,” said DuQuoin State Fair Race Promoter of Track Enterprises, Bob Sargent.
To cap off an exciting first year for the tire brand, the late September race weekend at the newly repaved Kentucky Speedway will be named the "General Tire Super Weekend at Kentucky Speedway" which will host the ARCA Racing Series Crosley 150 on Friday, September 23 and the NASCAR XFINITY Series VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 on Saturday, September 24.
"General Tire is an innovative company and aggressive marketer, which makes it a perfect partner for Kentucky Speedway as we continue our success by launching our renovated track this season," said Mark Simendinger, Executive VP/General Manager of Kentucky Speedway.
On top of the five race entitlements, General Tire will partner with Michigan International Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway, and Kansas Speedway to further build out the General Tire brand and offer additional events for their consumer activation.
"We are thrilled to partner with all of these great tracks in an effort to enhance the ARCA Race Series events and to bring more awareness to our tire brand in these key markets," said General Tire's director of marketing, Travis Roffler.
